Iconic movie start, Morgan Freeman, has issued an apology after eight women and many others accused him of sexual misconduct.
According to CNN, a production assistant suffered many months of sexual harassment at the hands of Morgan Freeman during the filming of a movie called “Going In Style”. Speaking to CNN, she said that during production, Morgan Freeman would constantly make inappropriate remarks about her body and unwarranted touching. She said that he would rub or touch her lower back constantly.
She also said that he would repeatedly attempt to lift up her skirt and would ask if she was wearing panties although he was never successful. He would constantly try, even after she would move away from him until co-star Alan Arkin noticed and commented, telling him to stop what he was doing. She said, “Morgan got freaked out and didn’t know what to say.”
Not The First Time
This was also not the first time. According to CNN, in 2012, another woman accused him of sexual harassment. A senior member of the production team, she said that Morgan Freeman would constantly make uncomfortable and inappropriate remarks and gestures towards her and several other female members.
CNN reports that she said: “He did comment on our bodies… We knew that if he was coming by … not to wear any top that would show our breasts, not to wear anything that would show our bottoms, meaning not wearing clothes that [were] fitted,”
As one of Hollywood’s biggest celebrities, Morgan Freeman’s career spreads over 50 years. He has earned numerous Oscar nominations as well as Academy Awards for narrating the documentaries “The Long Way Home” and “March of the Penguins.” According to the CNN investigation, 16 people in total spoke about the uncomfortable accusations and eight of them were witnesses to the allegations against him.
